Carroll Leo's Story
I was miserable for twelve years in public schools because I am gay (I knew by age five; I did not choose!) I began my real life as who I am at twenty-seven when I moved to Tennesse to teach at Memphis State University.
I lived happily in the gay world until I retired from teaching at age sixty. I now live contentedly with my ninety year old father and the love of my life--a six year old baby boy named Josh--a Tibetan spaniel.

g heart Democrat and a yellow-dog democrat; if Democrats nominate a yellow dog, I vote for the yellow dog.
My greatest accomplishment was to be named Teacher of the Year (Houston) in 1999.
I lead a poetry discussion group at a senior center twice a month and a general discussion group twice a month. I also attend book discussion groups.
Although I have many fond memories of friends at CHS, happiness is Coleman, Texas in the rear view mirror.
